FORT ERIE, Ontario – Eurocopter Canada Limited is pleased to announce that it has secured a firm order for two AS350 B3 helicopters to Hydro One, the largest electricity delivery company in Ontario.
Headquartered in Toronto, Hydro One plans to use the AS350 B3 helicopters to shuttle employees to remote communities that it services in Northern Ontario. The AS350 B3 is a high performance, single engine helicopter that offers superior ceiling and lift capacity and is ideal for use in rural settings. The aircraft, which can seat six people, offers superior manoeuvrability and visibility, and is powered by a 732 shp Safran Arriel 1D1 engine.
“Hydro One is excited to procure the AS350 B3 helicopter,” said Laura Cooke, president of Hydro One. “We feel that this aircraft will improve our ability to serve remote, northern communities, and ensure that we continue to provide outstanding service to Ontarians.”
Eurocopter Canada is significantly growing its operations throughout the country, including an expansion of its main facility in Fort Erie, Ontario; the opening a new logistics facility in Richmond, British Columbia; and re-establishing its operations in Quebec. Eurocopter Canada forecasts that it will deliver its 500th helicopter in Canada within the next 12 months.
“The B3 helicopter continues to be a top seller for our company,” said Marie-Agnes Veve, president and chief executive officer of Eurocopter Canada. “It is unique in its class and is regarded as the perfect single engine helicopter for operators looking for that extra measure of performance.”
