Overview
H145 D3
In 2020, a new innovative version of the H145 entered service equipped with a five-bladed main rotor. This new H145 embodies a major customer expectation: the ability to operate an aircraft with a great useful load. On that point, the H145 is over-performing, and surpassing all the competitors in its class. The latest version of Airbus’ H145 family has an additional 150 kg useful load, leading to the best useful load to maximum takeoff weight ratio for a light twin helicopter.
The new H145’s D-value (the largest overall dimension when rotors are turning) is further reduced, enabling the aircraft to land in even more confined areas. This agility makes the H145 the best choice for challenging EMS and public service missions.
Airbus has set a new standard in smoothness and flight comfort with its bearingless and hingeless five-blade main rotor. The strain on crews has been reduced considerably – improving overall mission efficiency. This innovation builds on the rotor’s simplified maintenance, increasing the availability rate – which is already remarkable on the H145.
‘The H145 is perfectly suited for the most demanding multi-purpose mission requirements’
The H145 (EC145 T2), the newest 4-ton class twin engine, multi-purpose helicopter in the Airbus Helicopters product range, is the latest evolution of the EC145/BK117 family. This family of aircraft has seen more than 800 deliveries worldwide and has accumulated more than 3 million flight hours.
Extended Mission Capabilities
Sharing many basic features with the EC145, the H145 will be able to be equipped with the same optional equipment to carry out missions such as EMS, Law Enforcement, SAR, Business Aviation, oil and gas and utility.
The H145 comes with a 4-axis autopilot, optimizing the capabilities of the aircraft for over-water day and night SAR missions. This innovative autopilot, was developed specifically for helicopters, is already available and in operation on the H155, H175 and H225.
H145
‘The Ultimate Multi-role Helicopter’
In operations on land and at sea, the H145 is at the top of its class in the medium-sized, twin-engine helicopter category. With up to 12 seats for pilots and passengers, this multi-mission helicopter combines Airbus Helicopters’ latest developments such as an advanced cockpit design, avionics and a sophisticated electrical system. The H145 offers a proven hingeless rotor system with a monolithic titanium hub and enhanced rotor blades, which ensure low noise and vibration levels.
The H145 is equipped with two Safran Arriel 1E2 engines which provide outstanding performance and vital power reserves even in one engine- inoperative (OEI) scenarios. The H145’s twin-engine reliability is enhanced by a completely separate fuel system, a tandem hydraulic system, a dual electrical system and redundant lubrication for the main transmission. Further built-in safety aspects include energy-absorbing fuselage, seats and crash-resistant fuel cells. In addition, the H145 allows for Category A operations up to performance class 1 according to JAR-OPS 3.
Compared to other helicopters in its class, the H145 offers a significantly larger cabin featuring excellent outside visibility for pilots, crew and passengers, a roomy cabin with no partitions, center or door
posts and unrivaled side and rear loading capability.
